Responsibilities

Provides clinical pharmaceutical care to patients and serves as an expert professional resource to service areas and Pharmacy Department. Provides daily operational leadership support to staff. Fills orders for parenteral and enteral medications recommends and monitors patient drug therapies and provides drug information to assure continuity of services and to achieve desired patient outcomes through safe timely cost-effective medication therapy.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a minimum of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or a B.S. Pharmacy degree with comparable clinical experience

  • Three years of clinical pharmacy experience

  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Arizona

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching as documented by student and/or resident evaluations and teaching awards

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision

  • Ability to work cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff

  • Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule

  • Ability to set priorities make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to exercise sound professional judgment

  • Ability to perform work accurately within specified times

  • Ability to make presentations to large groups

  • Ability to evaluate medical literature

  • Computer literacy and proficiency

Preferred

  • Completion of an ASHP accredited Pharmacy Residency Program

  • Three years of clinical pharmacy experience in health-system

  • Previous experience as a preceptor in an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency program

  • Electronic medical record experience; Cerner strongly preferred

  • Board of Pharmacy Specialties certification

Pay Range

$56.83 - $82.40 /hour
