Job Description Summary

Systems engineering is a multidisciplinary engineering discipline focused on approach, mindset, and process. It encompasses all activities that address both the business and technical needs of customers, aiming to deliver a quality product that meets user requirements. This discipline involves a comprehensive process of designing, creating, and optimizing systems, which includes identifying and quantifying system requirements, generating alternative system design concepts, conducting design trade studies, selecting and implementing the best designs, and verifying proper integration and execution of the design. The process spans from concept through production to operation.

The role impacts the quality of one's own work and that of others on the team. It involves executing standard operational and technical tasks, typically following instructions and established work routines. However, there is flexibility to adjust the sequence of tasks and duties based on changing work situations.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conducts component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability.

  • Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down.

  • Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.

  • Define product requirements for the module / component / subcontractors and partners teams.

  • Manages interface between components and execution organizations.

  • Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.

  • Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.

  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

  • Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master/Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.

  • Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in English.

Desired Characteristics

  • Preferably background in gas turbine design.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
