Department Description

Configuration Engineering (CE) within Global Release Operations organization is responsible for the timely and accurate implementation of Oracle's Hardware Configurator and related tools. The Hardware Configurator is used by partners, internal sales, and order fulfillment organizations for quoting, ordering, and fulfillment. Our software integrates with pricing, order management, internal and external manufacturers, and other backend systems.

Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified individual to work as part of a fast-paced implementation team to build and maintain the Oracle Hardware Configurator by writing configuration logic based on specifications, and unit testing the solutions built.

Responsibilities

Specific Tasks

  1. Design, implement and deliver product configuration logic/rules and user interface (UI) based on specifications provided by the Business Unit.

  2. Use constraint definition language (CDL), a coding language specific for Oracle Configurator, to define configuration rules.

  3. Unit test the solutions built before final QA. Ensure your implementation integrates with the existing code base. Troubleshoot and fix bugs.

  4. Determine optimal technical approaches and UI development in collaboration with product and UI experts.

  5. High degree of interaction with peers and other functional team members to communicate design and underlying architecture changes that may affect the overall design.

  6. Back line technical support for user queries on production configuration problems.

Job Qualifications

  • Strong logic, analytical, and problem solving skills.

  • Basic programming / scripting skills and/or fluency in expressing concepts using pseudo code.

  • Detail and results oriented.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent team player.

  • Implementation experience in Fusion Configurator, Oracle R12, or other product configurators is helpful.

  • BA, BS or MS degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent experience relevant to the functional area.

  • 2-6 years of related experience.
