PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The Global Financial Success (GFS) is a key pillar of SAP’s Global Finance Infrastructure. The GFS service delivery model allows SAP to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness as well as quality of the finance processes while delivering global end-to-end process standards. Within GFS is our Global Accounting Services (GA) organization, which supports month end closing procedures globally in accordance with SAP Group Accounting Guidelines and in collaboration with other process delivery teams within GFS (e.g. O2I, PTP, T&E, etc.) and other business functions (e.g. Controlling, HR, Payroll, etc.) As a member of the GA organization the Finance Associate is responsible to deliver the best quality services to all internal customers supported by the team. This role reports directly to the Finance Manager responsible for Employee Compensation and Benefits workstream.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As Finance Associate you will be able to build your accounting profession as you support the daily operations of the process and apply your accounting knowledge in practice constantly. At the same time this role offers many development opportunities on other skills and competencies that will help you shape your future career path. The Employee Compensation and Benefits team members support the processing of all compensation related accruals and allocations of pay-out, such as bonus accruals, vacation accruals, sales commission accruals and capitalization, mobility services accruals, etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in processing journal posting requests.
Perform bonus capitalization and amortization on bonus commission accruals.
Verify and monitor correctness of accounting information and associated deliverables.
Support countries for SOX audit, statistical reporting, Tax audit and external/internal audit reviews when required.
Participate and support in projects or in continuous improvements and standardization activities and process migrations.
Ensure a high satisfaction level amongst service customers and maintaining excellent business relations with key stakeholders.
Help foster our excellent relationships within GFS, and with our internal stakeholders CFR, LCA, Controllers, and internal as well as external service providers or global functions.
Ensure process alignment and standardization across countries and regions.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
SAP system knowledge preferred
Knowledge in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Organized and efficient
Aptitude for repetitive transactional system tasks and ability to work in a dynamic / virtual environment
Ability to work independently and as a team in a multi-cultural environment
Self-motivated and able to work under time pressure with accuracy and commitment
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
· Graduate of Accounting, Business or Economics
· Relevant working experience in an accounting environment would be an added advantage
