U.S. Army Sustainment Command Logistics Management Specialist in Poznan, Poland
Summary About the Position: This position serves as an advisor to the 405TH Army Field Support Brigade (AFSB), LRC Plans and Operations Division, in connection with the overall Logistics mission and functional responsibility. Relocation or Recruitment Incentive may be authorized Selectee will receive a Permanent Change of Duty Station (PCS) to Poznan, Poland with a 24-month unaccompanied tour (or 24- month accompanied tour with dependent family members over the age of 18). Responsibilities Direct daily operations with logistics management implications, evaluating efforts, plans, and progress of the separate and integrated logistical activities. Develop the logistics portion of the command's inspection program. Assist the Division Chief in developing LRC logistics plans and operations for daily functions. Develop tasks to improve services and decrease costs, coordinating the initiation of new services or requirements. Organize and participate in the logistical support operations cell during contingency operations and exercises. Assist the Logistic Resource Management Officer in the administration and execution of all phases of logistical financial planning, programming, budgeting, and oversight for LRC fund cite accounts. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Coordinating the logistical portion of contingency operations, mobilization and war plans to support assigned missions, 2) Planning actions for logistical personnel as well as recommend adjustments in resources necessary to integrate the various functions into a logistical management program AND 3) Gathering data for the logistics plans for daily operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Business Management, Supply, Operations or Logistics, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Flexibility Project Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement. Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area. Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only. Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions. Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250. For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits. Government housing, medical, dining, AAFES, and Commissary facilities are not available. Fuel substantial program for POV not available in Poland. Employees will have to pay for gas on the local economy. Employee is required to have a valid U.S. driver's license to obtain a local (Poland U.S. Forces Certificate of License). If shipping a Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), employee is required to obtain a Polish vehicle registration for local Polish auto insurance. No relief from Host Nation taxation i.e. no Value Added Tax (VAT) refund program.
