SUMMARY
The ambulance operator is responsible to provide high quality emergency transportation to sick and injured patients.
St. Lawrence Health (SLH) was established in December 2013 with the mission to improve health and to expand access through coordination and integration of services. SLH became an affiliate of Rochester Regional Health (RRH) in January 2021. Working together with our community partners, including local health departments and agencies, we are focused on disease prevention, promoting access to quality healthcare services, and improving the overall quality of life for our communities.

Desired Attributes:
- Minimum two years' driving an ambulance preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to keep ambulance stocked, organized, neat and clean
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well under pressure
Required Licensure/Certification:
- AHA BLS
- NYS Driver's License
- Responds to calls when dispatched
- Inspect the ambulance before each shift, checking the fuel, oil, transmission fluid, wiper fluid, and coolant, reporting any needed repairs.
- Check the first aid and medical supplies inventory levels before each shift and ensure the ambulance is well stocked
- Assist patients onto gurneys and loading them into and out of the ambulance
- Keep inside and outside of ambulance clean
- Sanitize the ambulance and safely dispose of any medical waste and soiled linens
- Administer first aid such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen.
- Maintain driving log with daily entries and noting patients' names and addresses, travel times, mileage and service performed
- Report accident facts to medical personnel and police officers, when necessary
PAY RANGE: $16.50 - $22.09
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
