Insight Global LVN/LPN - Pediatric in Portsmouth, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is in search of a LVN/LPN in the Portsmouth, VA area to support a government client on a long term contract. The ideal candidate would be responsible for ensuring patient care aligns with the Standards of Nursing Care and adheres to clinic policies and procedures. In this role, you will be working on the hospitals Pediatric floor. You'll check patients into the clinic, following guidelines, and perform triage. Informing nurses or physicians about the patient's condition and potential issues is crucial. Additionally, you'll obtain and meticulously document patient and pertinent family history. Your diagnostic support duties encompass taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and tracking diagnostic results. When assisting physicians, you'll prepare, position, and monitor patients during various diagnostic examinations, such as lumbar punctures, colposcopies, and sigmoidoscopies. Conducting laboratory tests, recording and reporting results, and performing treatment procedures--such as sterile dressing changes, administering medications, and inserting catheters--are part of your responsibilities. You'll also ambulate patients to different areas within the facility, including Radiology, various clinics, and physical therapy. Lastly, preparing patients for tests, examinations, treatments, and surgery, as well as monitoring and discontinuing intravenous fluids accurately, are essential aspects of your role. Remember to stay vigilant and alert providers to any unexpected findings.

Skills and Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an accredited college, university, or vocational nursing program

  • 12 months of nursing experience in an outpatient acute care (hospital based) or ambulatory care setting within the last 24 months

Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice null
