Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. This role is mainly focused on managing and processing accounts payable for separate entities, ensuring timely and accurate payment of bills, and maintaining vendor files. This opportunity offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently handle accounts payable for different entities

• Timely payment of invoices adhering to the departmental procedures

• Maintain and update vendor files regularly

• Analyze and reconcile monthly vendor statements

• Recognize and resolve any discrepancies in accounting entries

• Process and record transactions along with other accounting duties

• Professionally correspond with vendors and respond to their inquiries

• Sort and code invoices for proper accounting

• Manage expense reports processing

• Ensure no release of payment - check, wire, ACH

• Apply knowledge of coding for payments

• Report to the Treasury Controller as required. Requirements • Proficiency in Account Coding is required for this role.

• Familiarity with Accounting Software Systems is a must.

• Prior experience with ADP - Financial Services is desirable.

• Knowledge of Concur software is required.

• Understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is necessary.

• Ability to handle various Accounting Functions efficiently is crucial.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is preferred.

• Knowledge of Accrual Accounting is essential.

• Previous experience in Auditing is a plus.

• Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes is beneficial.
