Galvion Game Development Engineering Intern (Unreal Engine) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire

The successful candidate will contribute heavily to the simulation efforts of the Warfighter Systems Integration Lab by writing Unreal Engine 5 individual blueprints, materials or assets in general, and by optimizing overall engine functions to improve the spatial and temporal resolution of the simulation.
This is a paid internship and has a start date of mid-May and ends in mid-late August 2025.
About the role - you'll need to:
Design Blueprints, Materials, Levels or generic assets for VR in UE5
Test and debug features
Explore and improve overall settings of the engine to optimize performance.
Produce documentation for replicability.
Come up with algorithms for data collection and visualization.
Integrate external services in python or other convenient languages.
Work closely with electrical and systems engineers
About you - you'll need:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in Software Engineering/Computer Science etc. (second year or more)
Experience with Unreal Engine 5
Understanding of Lighting, performance and other engine features.
Familiarity with blueprint programming.
C++ a plus
Blender a plus
Comfortable working with fire weapon replicas and combat simulation
