Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking skilled Welders, Fitters, and Leads to join our team. This role involves structural welding with various wire sizes, primarily flux core, on 1/2 inch or thicker steel in multiple positions (1-3G) on mild steel. You will also assist in pre-fabrication operations as needed.
Responsibilities
Perform structural welding using various wire sizes, primarily flux core.
Weld 1/2 inch or thicker steel in positions 1-3G on mild steel.
Assist in pre-fabrication operations when necessary.
Fitter: Conduct full layout and fitting of structural assemblies according to blueprints and welding symbols.
Verify layout with quality checks.
Collaborate with the welding team to complete job sections.
Lead: Oversee all job aspects including layout/fitting, welding, and quality throughout project completion.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in welding, fitting, and fabricating structural steel.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
Experience with flux core and dual shield welding.
Structural welding skills, including 3G certification.
Welders: Must pass a 1/2 inch plate test in 3G.
Fitters: Must pass a 1/2 inch plate test in 1G and be able to walk through a drawing and layout.
Lead: Must pass a 1/2 inch plate test in 1G and be able to walk through a drawing and layout.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
WABO and AWS Certifications are preferred but not required.
Experience in welding and fabricating structural steel.

Our local shop handles structural projects and supports national operations for structural conveying systems used in mining. The majority of projects support structural, architectural, and construction projects. Our 100,000 square foot AISC-Certified Manufacturing Center includes complete fabrication, sandblasting, and painting facilities, along with a state-of-the-art computer drafting and modeling department. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00
