Otak is hiring for a Staff Accountant to join our Portland office. As a Staff Accountant at Otak, you will play a vital role in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will encompass timesheet administrator and accounting services including data entry, vendor maintenance, balance sheet reconciliation, and tax filing preparation. Your attention to detail and financial acumen will be essential in ensuring accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. Otak is an urban design, architecture, planning and engineering firm specializing in transportation infrastructure, water/natural resources, and landscape architecture. What you\'ll do: Time Sheet administrator \' weekly review and processing for over 300 employees Manage the processing and recording of accounts payable transactions while ensuring invoices and expense reports are accurately recorded and paid in accordance with policies and procedures. Assist with Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly tax filings. Sub-consultant vendor maintenance and processing invoices. Prepare accounting related entries to registers or journals. Perform general account analysis including reconciliations of transactional data. Assist preparing and organizing documentation for external auditors. Act as a back-up for routine payroll processing. What you bring: Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent years of experience. Minimum 3-4 year of experience in accounting or related field. Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry experience preferred. Proficient in MS Word and Excel. Knowledge of Deltek VantagePoint or other ERP software a plus. Knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment. Prior experience processing high volumes of transactions. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and solid attention to detail. Ability to think critically, employ problem-solving skills and meet tight deadlines.
