Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description

Our client has an immediate opening in the service department for a Field Service Helper/Assistant. This role involves assisting a Field Service Technician with preventative and corrective maintenance of industrial compressors. General responsibilities include running parts/tools, lifting pumps, and performing basic mechanical work. Additional tasks include parts pick-ups, customer deliveries, and in-shop preventive maintenance on compressors.

Responsibilities

• Assist Field Service Technician with maintenance tasks

• Run parts and tools to needed locations

• Lift and transport pumps and other equipment

• Perform basic mechanical work

• Pick up parts and deliver them to customers

• Conduct preventive maintenance on compressors in the shop

Essential Skills

• Mechanically inclined

• Clean DMV record

• Client-facing demeanor

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Good customer service skills

• Valid driver's license and clean record

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs frequently

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints/schematics

• Industrial equipment maintenance experience

• Electrical troubleshooting experience

• Experience with vacuums or industrial pumps

• HVAC experience

You will have the chance to learn on the job by shadowing and assisting a technician, with the goal of transitioning to a full-time outside Field Service Technician within approximately six months.

Work Environment

The Service Technician role is primarily in-state, with 90% of work located in Portland and the Portland Metro area. The work environment includes commercial and industrial settings.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of PORTLAND, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00
