WSP USA Senior Consultant, Marketing in Portland, Oregon

This Opportunity

The Senior Marketing Consultant, as part of WSP’s Strategic Growth Team, will work closely with the marketing manager, marketing team, and technical staff to lead and support the pursuit life-cycle from lead generation and capture planning to proposal development and presentation coaching. The ideal candidate can be in Colorado or Arizona. WSP offers an agile workspace that allows for employees to work hybrid.

The position requires strong leadership and proven skills leading a marketing program for a large, multidisciplinary engineering operation. The position is responsible for leading or overseeing bid and proposal efforts, with the expectation that the individual is authoring and incorporating win strategies and themes into the proposal and interview. The Senior Marketing Coordinator shall demonstrate the ability to take responsibility in leading marketing efforts for specific pursuits, including creation of proposals, presentations and qualifications, coordinates marketing efforts with outside vendors and subconsultants, maintain marketing systems, capture strategy development, and support business development initiatives.

Your Impact

  • Leads complex proposals with general guidance, including scheduling and conducting project kick-off meetings and strategy sessions for a winning proposal. Collaborates with technical staff to write original content and reviews/edits content for clarity, compliance and key messages. Organizes and coaches technical staff in presentation phase of a pursuit.

  • Researches, gathers and edits proposal materials, including writing, verifying, and formatting proposal information. Ensures the various aspects of proposals and other marketing materials are compliant, accurate and delivered in a timely manner. Collaborates with graphic design staff to plan and produce materials ensuring all proposal materials are effectively communicating the strategic vision identified for a given pursuit.

  • Works with individual pursuit teams to develop pursuit strategies, including providing business intelligence on clients, competitors and WSP.

  • Supports client engagement teams by preparing materials for internal and external meetings, as well as participating in client engagement team meetings. Supports annual strategic planning initiatives.

  • May coordinate district communications activities, including creating press releases and announcements, writing articles for newsletters, and coordinating project awards and other special communications-related projects.

  • May supervise work of marketing coordinators (I, II and III) and graphic designers indirectly.

  • Follows WSP’s high standards for ethical behavior and quality in all marketing activities.

  • Participates in SMPS and/or professional development activities to increase business acumen and develop industry relationships.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the AEC environment preferred, background in journalism, publishing or communications ideal

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills (both oral and written)

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams towards a positive outcome

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in completing tasks

  • Proficient in common grammar, punctuation, proofing and business writing

  • Knowledge of AEC industry terms and definitions highly desired

  • Ability to produce high quality materials under deadline pressure

  • Ability to train others on company policy and procedures

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness and ability to travel locally

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $83,200 - $127,380

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $83,200 - $119,570
