If you are passionate about providing health care through diagnostic testing then this opportunity is for you! Our client is a global healthcare company providing cutting edge diagnostic testing to make a difference! We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join their growing team!

Pay Rate: $20-36/hr.

Type of Job: Contract-hire

Shift: 11pm- 7:30am (Night shift)

Location: Portland, Oregon

Responsibilities:

• Assess specimens for testing based on established criteria

• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

• Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure proper functionality

• Make technical decisions related to testing and problem-solving

• Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls

• Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.

• Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed

• Assist with specimen processing when required

• Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

• 2-4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience

• Experience with bacterial culture reading

• ASCP or AMT certification required

• High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to pass a standardized color vision screen
