Job Description
The Expediting Specialist ensures the accurate and efficient movement of parts within the production environment. This role involves coordinating transportation, tracking test materials, handling lot splits, and assisting with planning and shipping schedules.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and document the transportation of products between departments or within product teams.
Determine daily status of parts and communicate needs and movements to production leads.
Report the status and schedule of products to planning to ensure delivery schedules are met.
Track, document, and move test bar materials through production and inspection operations.
Verify identification and quantities of test materials against casting schedules.
Record progress of test materials and ensure processing in accordance with Tech Cards.
Resolve problems regarding test materials in collaboration with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Shipping.
Split lots as requested by production, reissue split parts to new lots, and combine lots for cost-effective reworking.
Develop special schedules and estimates for planning and shipping.
Assist in setting shipping objectives and preparing daily shipping reports.
Coordinate all necessary paperwork for routing changes throughout the plant.
Adhere to plant and department safety rules and operate equipment and tools safely.
Identify and report safety problems.
Perform other tasks as directed.
Essential Skills
Experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficiency in using pallet jacks and forklifts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Comfortable working in a foundry environment with extreme heat and exposure to outdoor weather.
Ability to work safely around moving parts, including forklifts, overhead cranes, conveyor systems, automated machinery, and high-temperature furnaces.
