Job Summary

This position is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining written and visual training materials on technical subjects, facilitating and conducting technical courses with individuals and groups, and developing and maintaining the technical support Knowledge Base for the organization.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify technical training needs and establish overall objectives aligned to corporate objectives.

  • Work cross-functionally with IS Service Desk to identify technical training issues with users versus technical issues.

  • Develop and implement teaching aids and training materials, such as training handbooks, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, interactive online learning content, and reference works.

  • Research, establish and maintain relationships with external training agencies, platforms and internal resources; interface with vendors/partners to develop training when appropriate.

  • Coordinate and facilitate external technical training, including managing training vouchers.

  • Implement appropriate evaluation methods aligned with organization-wide evaluations to assess learning effectiveness and adapt or redesign training modules and programs as needed.

  • Develop standardized training and knowledge content templates.

  • Administer the technical knowledge lifecycle; create, maintain and remove user-facing and IS-facing knowledge within the knowledge base.

  • Review proposed knowledge articles for accuracy, content, and standards.

  • Interact with subject matter experts to escalate questions and issues.

  • Participate in new hire onboarding, providing foundational training to new computer users.

  • Administer the training request queue, handling requests and escalating requests to other teams as appropriate.

  • Working knowledge of e-learning development applications, such as Articulate, Rise, Storyline, or Captivate.

  • Ability to gain proficiency with the software and hardware in use across the organization.

    Education and/or Experience

    Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching adults and/or providing technical training to adults; experience should include training delivery, as well as creating a variety of training content and materials

    Preferred:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching adults and/or providing technical training to adults

  • Adult learning and development coursework
