Brave Care Clinic Receptionist, Part Time in Portland, Oregon

Brave Care is looking for a Part-Time Clinic Receptionist to join our NEPO Clinic! This is a great opportunity to be part of a company changing the way children and families access and receive exceptional medical care. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and our families and will provide administrative support for our clinical staff. You'll handle the flow of people through the business and ensure that all receptionist responsibilities are completed accurately and delivered promptly, with high quality.

In this role you will…

  • Answer the telephone in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. Follow established guidelines to support patients and route complex messages to medical staff.

  • Verify demographics for all patients, create new accounts, and verify eligibility for insurance coverage.

  • Greet and check-in patients at the front desk in preparation for their appointments with the provider. Collect and record copayments and outstanding balances, and balance the cash drawer daily.

  • Sustain excellent patient interactions using clear communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information at all times.

  • Successfully work in a fast-paced, changing environment with effective time management and ability to multitask and prioritize workload.

  • Display high standards of office conduct.

  • Ensure the reception area and waiting room are clean and neat. Regularly sanitize counters and surfaces.

  • Follow acceptable standards of office conduct.

  • Maintain punctual, regular, timely, and dependable attendance.

  • Complete other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, faxing, and receiving and sorting daily mail/deliveries/couriers.

You'll be a good match if…

  • You have a high level of competency with technology and software.

  • You are comfortable working at any of our 3 PDX locations when needed.

  • You have a general understanding of medical terms and experience with EMR preferred.

  • You have one year of experience in a medical office handling clinical receptionist responsibilities (preferred, not required).

Schedule

  • 3 days per week (typically Thurs-Sat); 8-10 hour days
