Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal with experience in Bankruptcy proceedings to join our team in Portland, Oregon. The primary function of this role will be to assist attorneys in the delivery of legal services, particularly in relation to bankruptcy cases. This role involves working under the direction of the firm's attorneys and reporting to the Director of Human Resources.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, revise and finalize various legal forms and documents

• File documents and forms with relevant courts/agencies

• Identify and analyze complex legal issues, recommend and implement solutions

• Maintain status reports of priorities and upcoming actions needed on each case

• Coordinate, manage and follow through on legal projects, ensuring tasks are completed

• Interact with clients in person and by email or phone, as necessary

• Track and manage legal deadlines, with a strict adherence to docketing procedures

• Utilize in-depth knowledge of legal terminology, legal forms and documents, legal practices and procedures, and legal docketing/calendaring rules

• Manage bankruptcy matters, including Chapter 11 cases, with extensive experience e-filing in bankruptcy courts

• Proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors

• Utilize proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite and document management system (ProLaw preferred) to manage case information and client communications effectively.

5+ YOE as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Experience supporting attorneys on Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring matters
