Farmer Brothers Assistant HR Generalist in Portland, Oregon

The Assistant HR Generalist will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Talent Acquisition team ensuring prompt, professional service for client groups at multiple locations. The HR Associate must be detail oriented, organized, flexible, and able to handle multiple projects at any given time, Have the ability to communicate effectively in order to research or follow up on inquiries or issues in a fast paced, onsite, team-based environment. Interact with HR Business partners and all levels of managers and candidates and contribute to the overall success of the HR group by providing a high level of customer service and quality work.

Train and lead new resources to assist in the below responsibilities as needed :

  • Input new hires and employee changes into the JD Edwards and Paycom databases to ensure all employee data is current and accurate.

  • Prepare and distribute new hire packets for union and non-union multi-site locations.

  • Process new hire paperwork ensuring that the required documents have been submitted and that all paperwork has been completed properly. Includes I-9 verifications

  • Maintain applicant tracking system to ensure that all candidate data is current and accurate

  • Assists with employee recruiting functions, as needed, including posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, recommending, and coordinating and manage the interview, background, job offer and on-boarding process

  • Manages the full cycle recruiting functions for temporary employees, including agency selection, candidate screening and selection recommendation

  • Assist in arranging interviews, transportation and travel itineraries for candidates.

  • Lead site’s employee engagement team and facilitate employee engagement activities

  • Maintain personnel records both electronically and in hard copy, including filing documents and conducting research. Assist the VP, HR with review of electronic filing systems.

  • Create/prepare reports and maintain required documentation for compliance purposes

  • Assists HR Business Partners with any projects requiring additional assistance

  • Partner with site leadership to execute employee disciplinary action

  • Support creation of employee engagement survey

  • Support HR team to update new hire orientation/onboarding processes

  • Support HR, Benefits, and HRIS teams with employee data

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 2-5 years Human Resources/Staffing/Administrative experience

  • High School Diploma, some college preferred

  • HR certification preferred

  • Experience with applicant tracking or HRIS systems preferred

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Products, including Outlook, Word, and strong Excel skills are required

  • Ability to read, understand and retain working knowledge of procedures and company documents

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
