University of Maine System Human Resources Partner in Portland, Maine

The University of Southern Maine (USM) seeks a dynamic and motivated Human Resources Partner to join our dedicated team in supporting our vibrant academic community. As an HR Partner, you will collaborate closely with the Senior HR Partner for Academic Affairs to ensure strategic and operational HR support across faculty and academic staff. The Human Resources Partner (HRP (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Dn5S1J0F0RiqcQy-t2tLX-JV-WUIQBkz/view?usp=sharing) ) works under the direction of a Senior Human Resources Partner (SHRP) or alternative HR leader and is responsible for addressing University system, campus, and department needs with effective HR strategies. The position partners with HR Centers and HR Campus Team members to develop and administer HR solutions that support relevant strategic goals and provides HR generalist support to faculty and staff. This position requires collaboration with various leaders and partners across the University and University of Maine System Office. The position serves as a consultant to leaders in maximizing results using sound strategic HR practices. The HRP will provide reliable direction and counsel on HR related issues and/or services while ensuring consistency and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

Candidates should expect to work in a fast-paced environment fast-paced environment; have strong knowledge of HR best practices, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Successful candidates would be able to demonstrate that they can exercise good judgment, diplomacy, and perceptual objectivity to effectively and appropriately make decisions. Aptitude to define problems, identify trends, collect data, and establish facts to draw valid conclusions as well as juggle and prioritize competing priorities will also be critical in this role.

This is a full-time position on our Portland Campus with an annual salary of up to $60,000.

  • Minimum of 3 years of strategic HR experience.
