Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Portage, Michigan. The primary role of the Staff Accountant will encompass a range of tasks including maintaining financial records, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This role is well-suited to a detail-oriented individual with a thorough understanding of basic bookkeeping principles and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budget performance reviews

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, rules, and internal controls

• Participate in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines

• Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information

• Handle tasks related to journal entries, invoices, and account reconciliation for monthly or annual closing

• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts

• Aid in the preparation for annual audits

• Contribute to the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies

• Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances

• Utilize software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP to manage accounting figures and financial records. Requirements • Candidate must possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in the field of accounting.

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations effectively.

• Familiarity with the workings of a General Ledger.

• Experience in recording Journal Entries is necessary.

• Knowledge in handling Month End Close activities is needed.

• Working knowledge of NetSuite is a significant advantage.

• Proficiency in Oracle is highly desirable.

• Experience with QuickBooks will be considered favorably.

• Familiarity with SAP is a significant plus.
