Kalamazoo RESA Education for the Arts Administrator in Portage, Michigan
The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan's education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.
We are currently seeking an Education for the Arts Administrator at the KRESA Service Center in Portage, Michigan. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Develop and Manage High School Programs: Create, direct, and maintain partnerships with community and educational stakeholders, overseeing staffing and curriculum for the county-wide High School "Excellence in the Arts" program.
- Oversee K-8 and Alternative Programs: Design, direct, and supervise the Program Coordinators for K-8 and Alternative/Special Education "Arts for All" programs across the county, ensuring accessibility and engagement for all students.
- Lead Fieldtrip Series: Strategize and manage the EFA Presents! fieldtrip series, including contracting world-renowned performing arts companies.
- Manage Consortium Participation: Coordinate and direct the participation of 10 school districts in the EFA Consortium, working closely with the EFA LEA Superintendent Committee and Career Connect Leadership.
- Manage Consortium Budget: Oversee the financial planning and monitoring of the consortium budget, ensuring alignment with program goals and efficient use of resources.
- Administer Re-granting Programs: Design, implement, and manage five re-granting programs ensuring funds are allocated effectively.
- Grant Research and Administration: Research, develop, and submit grants to support the advancement of fine arts education in the county, ensuring the sustainability and growth of
- Financial Oversight: Secure funding resources, manage budget activities, and approve expenditures across all EFA programs.
- Foster Community Connections: Build and strengthen relationships between schools and the arts community through cooperative programs and initiatives.
- Advocate for Arts Education: Facilitate networks at local and state levels to support arts education advocacy, public policy, curriculum development, assessment, and
- Staff Management: Identify, interview, and recommend staff hires that align with the goals and vision of the EFA program, fostering a supportive and dynamic team environment.
- Program Facilitation: Inspire, support, and collaborate with teachers and resident artists to cultivate a joyful, student-centered, and hands-on creative learning environment that promotes ABAR (anti-bias, anti-racist) principles.
- Operational Coordination: Strategize, coordinate, and streamline program operations with KRESA & Career Connect staff, resources, local district principals, and counselors.
- Community Engagement and Communication: Work closely with the KRESA Community Engagement and Communications team to develop and implement strategies for community engagement and internal/external communications.
