Unilever Making and EC&I Project Lead in Port Sunlight, United Kingdom

Job Title: Making and EC&I Project Lead

Location: Port Sunlight Factory

JOB PURPOSE

The Making and EC&I Project Leader role is critical in the successful delivery of key innovation and engineering projects onsite. The role is directly responsible for managing the end to end execution of the Making and control system element of site process engineering projects. The role will play a key part of the proposed migration plan to move away from legacy control systems and moving to a new PCS7 control system platform

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Deliverables

  • Lead and deliver the Making and EC&I element of key engineering projects (scoping through to handover).

  • Ensure Process safety management procedures and requirements are always followed (MOC, HAZOP’s, technical documentation etc).

  • Support the factory's on breakdowns and Focused Improvements

  • Create Technical Standards to ensure process stability of the site.

  • Train Engineers on technical standards. Identify and extend good practice.

  • Manage/carry out the installation, testing and commissioning of plant equipment related to the project

  • Manage the work activities of 3rd party contractors in accordance with the site contractor management procedure.

  • Create and maintain project files and documentation in accordance with CDM regulations.

Qualifications

  • HND in Electrical/Electronics essential, Post Graduate level education; Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Preferably Multi skilled (Mech, Elec & Instrumentation/PLC/PCS7)

  • Minimum electrically skilled status

Experience Required

  • Must have a high level of experience in managing complex change in plant control systems and instrumentation.

  • Must have leading edge knowledge of PCS7 Control Systems

  • Must show evidence of successfully delivering large and complex projects related to the EC&I element.

  • Preference is for candidate to have experience in control system migration.

Recruitment Fraud

Cyber criminals advertise fake job adverts with prestigious employers as a way of stealing information or even defrauding individuals out of money. In the most sophisticated cases, they will set up fake websites, which have a similar address to companies like Unilever. They even conduct fake telephone interviews and then offer candidates a role with the proviso they pay a fee for background checks or to cover work visa costs.  These types of attacks are becoming more common as more people are looking for employment in the economic climate.

How is Unilever tackling this?

Many of Unilever’s recruitment sites publish a warning to candidates about recruitment fraud. The Cyber Security team also proactively scan for signs of people setting up fake Unilever sites and act to close them down.
