City Of Port Orange Assistant Plant Mechanic in Port Orange, Florida
POSITION OBJECTIVES
This is an advanced semi-skilled position. This position is responsible for work in the construction and maintenance of a utility system. This employee performs the more advanced and skilled maintenance work learned over a period usually requiring less supervision.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Two (2) years' experience in maintenance work and/or training
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Florida Commercial Driver's License Class B.
Must possess either Water Distribution System Operator License Level 3 (formerly Voluntary Certification Level C) as defined per FAC, or Wastewater Collection System Operator Certification Level C.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of equipment used in utility systems to produce and treat drinking water, collect and treat wastewater, produce and distribute reclaimed water.
Knowledge of the materials and methods used in the maintenance and repair of water, wastewater and reclaimed water utilities systems, as well as the tools and equipment used to repair these systems.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
Present information in written and oral format to individuals.
Apply principles of basic mathematical concepts related to this position.
Identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions that are in accordance with laws, ordinances, and established principles.
