Opportunity Overview:
We are currently in search of a Electronics Maintenance Technician III, working out of Port Hueneme, CA. This individual must be professional, detail oriented, and discreet.
The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
Other Duties:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of electronic and electrical equipment
Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills to perform complex repairs often without documentation or instructions
Repair components and wiring circuits using basic and advanced skills IAW industry standards and best practices
Operates machines: bench lathe, milling machine, punch press, drill press; and verifies dimensions using micrometer and calipers
Completes assemblies including wire and insulation, electrical components following method layout and concept drawings
Fabricates and installs electronic assemblies and hardware using hand tools and equipment
Repairs, modifies, and tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability using multi-meter, oscilloscope and voltmeter
Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.
Take test readings using instruments such as digital multi-meters
Proficient operation of personal and network computer systems as required for Operations
Record and track work performed in a maintenance information system
Work largely without supervision and provide guidance to lower-level technicians
Check work of lower-level Technicians frequently for accuracy
Mandatory Requirements:
8+ years related work experience
5 years of ship board experience in a lead position
US Navy experienced technician
Active security clearance required: Secret
Required to pass a U.S. Government background security check
Strongly Preferred:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, & Access)
DoD Experience
Advanced knowledge of electronics, computer networks, and mechanical apparatus
Background in and / or wireless WAN networking procedures
Working knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, welding, woodworking and mechanical apparatus
Maintain the ability to operate various types of test equipment
