Job Title: CNC Machinist - 1st Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team on the 1st shift. The position requires expertise in operating precision machinery and performing quality checks using precision measuring instruments. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining dimensions and tolerances, operating CNC equipment, and ensuring the accuracy of machined parts.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various types of precision machinery including lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, hand tools, and milling machines proficiently.

  • Determine dimensions and tolerances of pieces to be machined, sequence of operations, and machines required by studying specifications, mechanical drawings, sketches, damaged parts, or descriptions of parts.

  • Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments to check accuracy.

  • Operate CNC equipment as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in reading mechanical drawings.

  • Ability to read and use precise calibration equipment including micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.

  • Possesses machine shop training in mechanics, shop materials, metal properties, and machining procedures.

  • Knowledge of how to use CNC equipment.

  • Experience in inspection of dimensional tolerances on work produced.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School or GED equivalent.

  • Post high school certification or degree in machining preferred.

  • 3 years’ experience in precision metal working machinery.

  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and vice versa.

  • Able to read a tape measure within 1/16 inch.

  • Able to pass a math and measurement assessment.

  • Provide own tools as needed for the job.

Work Environment

Our state-of-the-art 750,000 sq ft manufacturing facility employs the latest solid modeling design software and CAD/CAM processes including CNC laser cutting, CNC press brake, CNC turret punch, CNC sawing, CNC mill, and robotic welding. The work environment is dynamic, requiring regular standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and reaching with hands and arms. The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds is necessary. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00
