Valero Superintendent Waste/Water in PORT ARTHUR, Texas
Description:
Provides technical and regulatory assistance to the Environmental Manager and other refinery management on environmental issues that impact refinery operations. Helps direct the environmental program for the Port Arthur Refinery & Diamond Green Diesel Port Arthur Facility (DGD) in compliance with all federal, state and local safety regulations.
- Maintains up to date knowledge of existing and proposed environmental regulations to ensure continued compliance
- Provides direct supervision and guidance to assigned Environmental staff, to ensure waste & water programs are effective from an environmental and operational standpoint.
- Manages the refinery spill crew, clean-up efforts, and calculates spill volumes following spills,and managers manages spill reporting to government agencies.
- Oversees the waste management program for the refinery & DGD
- Designs, implements, and maintains waste & water programs in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluates recycle and reuse options to reduce waste volumes
- Reviews effectiveness and modifies on-site programs to ensure goals of departments, standards of the company and regulatory requirements are met.
- Interprets regulatory requirements and determines the impact of these requirements on refinery operations. Presents issues to refinery and corporate management in an effective manner to develop corrective actions, if required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications:
* Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Port Arthur Refinery, required.
* High School Diploma or GED
* 10 years of experience in the following area(s):Environmental experience in a refinery required

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
