We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Petrochemicals (CP) team in Port Arthur, TX.

We are seeking a professional like you to be responsible for the management of capital projects within the operating units at the Port Arthur site. As a Project Manager you will provide the project team managerial and technical leadership to develop and execute capital projects using the BASF phase gated process. You will work closely with team members from the site and business organizations to ensure the safe and effective implementation of capital projects while ensuring the project objectives and stakeholder expectations are met.

As a Project Manager (Port Arthur, TX), you create chemistry by...
Developing project scopes, generating cost estimates, and preparing project objective memos to obtain funding authorizations.
Ensuring compliance with environmental, safety, and health requirements and promoting a safe working environment.
Requesting and coordinating necessary resources for engineering design deliverables and procurement.
Developing and maintaining partnerships with project manufacturing representatives.
Adhering to equipment/materials specifications in bid evaluations and procurement activities.
Maintaining project data, monitoring progress, performing status reporting, and controlling spending.
Monitoring and supporting construction activities to ensure projects are completed according to design deliverables and quality standards.
Ensuring successful project startup and completion of project-related action items.
Closing projects per guidelines and ensuring proper documentation is completed.
Participating and contributing to project management procedures, guidelines, standards, and practices.
Mentoring and coaching less experienced engineers.
If you have...
A bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred) and at least 5 years of project management experience in a petrochemical plant or refinery.
Strong personal commitment to safety and personal accountability.
Strong interpersonal, communication, administrative, and personal motivation skills to lead multi-discipline project teams.
Experience managing projects with a Total Installed Cost (TIC) greater than $2MM using a phase gate project methodology.
Working knowledge of chemical process equipment and industry design codes and practices.
Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
