This is a Secondary Role for current colleagues.
Accountability Objectives:
Provide a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Performs a variety of departmental
functions and tasks, including Technician I, Technician II, and Environmental Services Specialist responsibilities, according to established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Uses safe work practices and follows state and federal regulatory compliance guidelines.
Organizes, coordinates, and leads environmental functions and
activities of assigned personnel, under the direction of Environmental Services Manager.
Coordinates with department Leadership and Logistics Center to meet the needs of the environmental services needsof the organization.
II Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.
A. Education
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Ability to read and write required
B. Licensure / Certification
Valid Michigan Driver's License, preferred.

C Special Skill / Aptitudes
Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary to deal effectively with various levels of
hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups.
Interpersonal and relationship management skills necessary to effectively develop and foster collaborative
working relationships with all levels of staff/management/leadership, influence results, and garner support.
Leadership skills necessary to motivate individuals and teams, and resolve problems in a diplomatic professional manner.
Ability to make decisions for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the
ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
Ability to work with others collaboratively within a "team" environment to complete goals and tasks.
Knowledge and ability to perform various job-related tasks, i.e., various forms of floor care and use of automatic cleaning equipment, etc.
Ability to modify work plans and priorities to ensure the completion of assignments requested are accomplished to support patient care.
Ability to work in a health care environment and be sensitive to needs and respect the dignity of patients visitors and staff.
Must be proficient in various computer systems including Bed Tracking.
Reliable, self-starter, ability to work within departmental and hospital policy and procedures.
Ability to bend and stoop, push, pull and manage equipment of up to 250 lbs. and independently lift heavy objects up to 55 lbs.
Ability to learn and perform various job-related tasks.
D. Experience
One year experience at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland as an Environmental Services Tech II or Environmental Services Specialist.
One year experience in various applications of floor care cleaning, upholstery, and operation of various types of departmental equipment used for the same.
