This is a Secondary Role for current colleagues.

Accountability Objectives:

• Provide a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Performs a variety of departmental

• functions and tasks, including Technician I, Technician II, and Environmental Services Specialist responsibilities, according to established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.

• Uses safe work practices and follows state and federal regulatory compliance guidelines.

• Organizes, coordinates, and leads environmental functions and

• activities of assigned personnel, under the direction of Environmental Services Manager.

• Coordinates with department Leadership and Logistics Center to meet the needs of the environmental services needsof the organization.

• II Position Qualifications:

• Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required.

• A. Education

• High School diploma or GED preferred.

• Ability to read and write required

• B. Licensure / Certification

• Valid Michigan Driver's License, preferred.

• C Special Skill / Aptitudes

• Excellent customer service orientation skills necessary to deal effectively with various levels of

• hospital personnel, outside customers and community groups.

• Interpersonal and relationship management skills necessary to effectively develop and foster collaborative

• working relationships with all levels of staff/management/leadership, influence results, and garner support.

• Leadership skills necessary to motivate individuals and teams, and resolve problems in a diplomatic professional manner.

• Ability to make decisions for the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.

• Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the

• ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.

• Ability to work with others collaboratively within a "team" environment to complete goals and tasks.

• Knowledge and ability to perform various job-related tasks, i.e., various forms of floor care and use of automatic cleaning equipment, etc.

• Ability to modify work plans and priorities to ensure the completion of assignments requested are accomplished to support patient care.

• Ability to work in a health care environment and be sensitive to needs and respect the dignity of patients visitors and staff.

• Must be proficient in various computer systems including Bed Tracking.

• Reliable, self-starter, ability to work within departmental and hospital policy and procedures.

• Ability to bend and stoop, push, pull and manage equipment of up to 250 lbs. and independently lift heavy objects up to 55 lbs.

• Ability to learn and perform various job-related tasks.

• D. Experience

• One year experience at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland as an Environmental Services Tech II or Environmental Services Specialist.

• One year experience in various applications of floor care cleaning, upholstery, and operation of various types of departmental equipment used for the same.
