Phillips 66 Electrician (Journeyman), Ponca City Refinery in Ponca City, Oklahoma

The Electrician (Journeyman), Ponca City Refinery works in the maintenance departments of various business units within the refinery.

This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Responsibilities May Include:

  • Maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing refinery electrical systems including medium voltage switchgear and motor control centers, 600-volt switchgear and motor control centers, electric motors, motor control circuits, lighting and power circuits, bucket truck operation, and conduit installation

  • Working schedule is normally days, Monday through Friday. However, it will involve some night, weekend, and overtime work to support the 24-hour operation of the Refinery

  • Working effectively in a team environment

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Valid driver's license

  • One or more years of Industrial Electrician and/or process instrumentation shop experience

  • Currently hold an Oklahoma State Journeyman Electrical License or equivalent state Journeyman Electrical License

  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:

  • To work overtime

  • To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos

  • To work near large, hot, high-speed machines

  • To climb up to 250 feet in height

  • To lift up to 50 pounds

  • To work around chemicals, including acids and bases

  • To wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)

  • To maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)

  • To perform firefighting duties

  • To work outside in harsh weather conditions

  • To work with petroleum products that are under high pressure and heat

  • To read technical procedures and materials in English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous direct experience working in a refinery or petrochemical plant

  • Strong knowledge of electrical industrial type equipment and electrical maintenance practices

The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
