Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Purchasing Supervisor will be responsible for all Luminis purchases. This role is decisive for the organization in order to ensure the on-time production of products and compliance with the quality criteria issued by engineering. The incumbent will use its expertise to procure parts at the lowest total acquisition cost, when required. He (she) will have 2 buyers under his responsibility to carry out all the procurement activities required for the proper functioning of Luminis.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Supervise the daily tasks of 2 buyers.
Ensure that the daily purchases suggested by the ERP (Min Max) are placed.
Support the procurement part for new products in collaboration with the design and development department.
Make sure you get the parts on time.
Ensure that suppliers provide and respect delivery dates.
Find new suppliers.
Negotiation with current suppliers.
Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
Evaluate and measure supplier performance.
Maintain control parameters (min-max, safety factors) of the ERP system.
Propose/implement improvements to internal processes in order to improve
the efficiency of purchasing processes.
Identify opportunities to reduce parts costs.
Control inventories.
Accomplish any other task entrusted to him.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7-8 years of experience in a procurement position.
Supervisory experience (an asset).
BAC in supply/logistics or any other relevant field.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and the Office suite.
Oral and written bilingualism (French and English).
Mechanical/electrical knowledge and ability to read technical plans.
Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
