HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to come join our team! The Quality Manager ensures that the products and services that HII Unmanned Systems provides are fit for their intended purpose and meet customer expectations by coordinating all activities required to meet this aim. The QA manager will monitor and advise Unmanned management on how the quality management system is performing and publishes data and reports regarding company performance against established indicators.

The Quality Manager will continually liaise with managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the QA system is functioning properly. The QA Manager should have much visibility on the production and manufacturing floor as well as interface regularly with engineering staff. Where appropriate, the QA manager advises on necessary changes and provides training, tools, and techniques that are required to enable the staff to achieve quality.

Responsible for ensuring quality policies and procedures are followed in assigned location. Monitors work operations on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction as required to managers. Provides training and inspections as required. Executes department procedures. Responsible for daily operations of team or work unit. Since maintaining quality demands constant change to meet customer expectations, the quality assurance manager will employ a variety of measures to keep quality amongst the highest priorities of the organization. These include management systems such as ISO 9000, philosophies, such as Total Quality Management, and methodologies such as Continuous Improvement and other quality tools as appropriate. The successful candidate will:

• Maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.

• Establish and maintain programs in compliance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

• Work with management to promote quality and performance improvement throughout the organization.

• Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.

• Maintain awareness of the business objectives and company profitability including budgetary issues.

• Assess suppliers, Unmanned Systems product specifications, and customer requirements.

• Work with purchasing and engineering to establish quality requirements for external suppliers.

• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation.

• Establish and monitor clearly defined quality methods for our staff to apply.

• Identify relevant quality-related training needs.

• Collate and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters.

• Ensure that tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.

• Supervise technical staff in carrying out tests and checks.

• Bring together staff of different disciplines to plan, formulate, and agree upon comprehensive quality procedures.

• Liaise with customers and auditors to ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications.

• Work with management to establish standards of service for customers or clients.

• Prepare clear explanatory documents.

• Teach and monitor the use of manufacturing statistical tools for problem solving and plant decision making.

• Monitor, track and resolve customer complaints in conjunction with customer service.

• Working knowledge of the assembly and fabrication of oceanographic and robotic equipment.

What you will be doing....

What we are looking for...

  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance #LI-MH1

  • Well versed knowledge of ISO-9001-2015 Requirements or similar defense manufacturing industry recognized quality standards (military, nuclear, aerospace)

  • Knowledgeable in Capability Maturity Module Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and leadership experience to lead a Quality Team and company responsible for manufacturing of state of the art complex autonomous robotic vehicles

  • Experiences in managing a vast of array of electronic and mechanical sub-tier suppliers

  • Candidate must be able to work onsite at our Pocasset, Massachusetts manufacturing facility.

  • Experience in Software Quality is a plus.
