Northrop Grumman is looking for a Manager, Project Management 3 for the Missile Products Business Unit reporting directly to the VP; serving as a Chief of Staff , ensuring all aspects of the Business Unit operations are effective and efficient. This position will be located in Rocket Center, WV. The Plymouth, MN location is an alternate location – the Rocket Center location is strongly preferred.

The selected candidate will be a member of the Missile Products Leadership Team and work directly with the VP and the Missile Products Leadership to organize and facilitate day-to-day operational aspects of the Business Unit and lead executive engagements for the VP and the leadership team.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Integrate day-to-day operational objectives to meet the Business Unit’s financial, non-financial goals and assigned Sector Operating Objectives (SOOs)

  • Prepare Business Unit VP for all senior level internal meetings and customer engagements with relevant information/materials such as talking points and relevant background information

  • Work with leadership to identify Business Unit focus areas for process improvement/streamlining and development and execution of operational initiatives

  • Support the development and execution of the Business Unit’s Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Strategic Plan (AOP/LRSP) to include the planning of resources to achieve the plans

  • Support Missile Products business rhythms and coordinate the development, review and periodic reporting of applicable Business Unit operating objectives, and non-financial metrics

  • Ensure deliverables required by Division level business rhythms are coordinated among the staff and delivered on-time

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the VP and the Missile Product’s leadership team

  • Drive execution of strategic initiatives and tasks initiated by the VP by working with cross-functional teams and business leaders across the organization

  • Act as a focal point for communication and collaboration among Missile Products functional and operating unit leaders

  • Collaborate with other BU staff chiefs to align inputs to Division and Sector leadership.

  • Anticipate and proactively manage the materials, data and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events

  • Support employee engagement activities such as VP Leadership All Hands, and Leader Site Visits

  • Leads internal special projects as requested by the VP, to include activities such as: developing and monitoring objectives, briefing senior leaders, and facilitating broader communication across division employees as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of related experience and minimum of 7 years project management experience

  • Must be able to operate effectively in an ambiguous environment; identify and proactively determine the best ways to address issues or tasks without specific direction

  • Possess a strategic mindset; identify areas for improvement within the division and bridge gaps between functions to drive implementation of improvements

  • Think ahead to anticipate potential challenges, ensuring they are addressed in advance or providing recommended options to leadership when necessary

  • Must collaborate well with the Business Unit Leadership Team and possess the ability to influence without direct authority to produce results/outcomes

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects within critical deadlines

  • Strong data analytic capability and attention to detail and accuracy

  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning, and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others, including ability to interact effectively with senior level management

  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information

  • Demonstrated ability to understand detailed program financial performance; strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to make recommendations and provide guidance to effectively bring projects to completion

  • Highly advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of company and sector operations, policies, procedures and command media

  • Ability to travel a minimum of 10% domestically

  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain Secret DoD clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or MBA degree in a technical, business or related field

  • PMP or similar certification

  • Strong understanding of Northrop Grumman culture and demonstrated success effectively working within company’s organization, processes, and procedures

  • Experience with the Defense Community customers

  • Experience with international programs, operations and businesses

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
