Job Title: Quality Supervisor
Department: Quality
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The mission of the position is to plan, coordinate and control all quality and R&D testing activities in order to meet budget and quality standards. Furthermore, the Laboratory Manager initiates and implements action plans for continuous improvement of relevant processes. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage and coordinate all laboratory management activities for the plant (staffing, equipment calibration, software & repair, laboratory supplies)
Contribute to strategic and operative planning of the plant/operations unit (e.g. with respect to investments, capacity and headcount planning)
Ensure the achievement of testing standards according to internal and external customer expectations
Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities by applying quality and lean methods and training measures
Initiate and control investments for testing equipment together with plant quality and R&D (e.g. software, laboratory equipment, etc.)
Participate in and/or steer local quality related and cross-functional projects
Conduct employee dialogues, personnel development and coaching
Establishes lab procedures, creates and manages lab-related documentation
Ensure implementation of and compliance to external (e.g. ISO 9001 or customer audits) and internal quality standards (e.g. CT quality system, equipment, tools, KPIs, etc.) within the laboratory setting
Participate in internal and external audits, assessments and preparation of management reviews, this includes regular internal assessments based on the mandatory elements of quality management guidelines Administrate plant laboratory software systems Drive Yokoten activities, i.e. implementation and application of structured problem-solving and lessons learned approach within the laboratory
Ensure timely submission of financial data to controlling Implement and conduct activities according to the budget established
Ensure operation of incoming and process quality inspection according to production control plan, production planning and standards Ensure containment actions in case quality requirements are not fulfilled manage
Blocked stock storage (non-conforming material) according to standards ensure operation of laboratory and quality equipment according to standards
Coordinate product test development with R&D personnel and equipment vendors ensure developed tests meet safety standards
Ensure the availability of qualified employees for the laboratory function in cooperation with plant HR initiate and control the continuous qualification of laboratory employees in cooperation with plant HR
Ensure performance (KPI) monitoring and reporting (e.g. calibration completion, first pass yield, etc.)
Ensure data accuracy for production and scrap reporting associated with laboratory testing activities
Initiate and control measures to improve quality performance
Ensure local implementation of relevant standards
Provide feedback and input for further development of standards regarding quality processes (e.g. test criteria, etc.), quality, equipment (e.g. laboratory equipment, measurement equipment for quality assurance), quality IT (e.g. software) to plant management

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with MasterCam CNC lathe and mill programming software required.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
