How Will You Make an Impact?:

You’ll provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts and equipment at the assigned facility.

A Day in the Life:

Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested. Receive materials and/or finished goods daily. Inspect quality, verify, and record materials accurately per received documentation (i.e. packing slip). Safely operate distribution equipment, as required. Satisfactorily complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements and operate within all ISO standards pertaining to site Distribution including, but not limited to, Control of Documents and Quality Policy.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field

  • Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)

  • Experience handling hazardous materials (chemicals) is a plus.

  • Experience with computers and scanning equipment preferred.

  • Ability to stand and move about the warehouse (involving walking, stopping, bending, lifting, and reaching) required.

  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read and write in English.

  • This position requires the individual to be ready to start work timely daily and may require overtime when demand fluctuates. Unplanned unapproved/missed-time should be kept at a minimum.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Functional knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures.

  • Proven record to work well with others in a team environment.

  • Knowledge in SAP and E1 a plus

  • Work in a fast-paced environment and cross-train in multiple areas within Distribution.

  • Flexibility with recurring work situations and tasks.

  • Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could cause delays in schedules.

  • Strong digital literacy including familiarity with relevant software (Excel and Word) preferred a plus.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Follow warehouse safety standards and use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

  • Work in cold room temperature and frozen room temperature.

  • Works in a team-based environment. Is required to lift up to 25 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.

  • Able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. May be asked to work outside of regular work hours.

  • The above position will require you to work a flexible shift pattern.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $17.29–$28.81.
