Quality Technician

We are seeking a Quality Technician to be located in Pleasant Prairie, WI. The expected work hours will be primarily on days, but some overtime and back shift work will be required. Within the Quality Tech Job Description responsibilities include but are not limited to: Customer Issue\u2019s, Work in Process Auditor, Final Auditor, Sample Auditor. All auditing activity will provide documentation and samples to ensure quality materials are produced and meet customer specifications prior to delivering to the customer. If non-conformity is detected, the Quality Technician is responsible for insuring that the in process non conforming procedure is followed. This position will learn to perform various testing as required by customer specifications. The Quality Technician role report directly to the Quality Manager.

Tasks & Duties:

The Quality Technician will perform one or more of the following functions and may be requested to perform others as is necessary.

  • Auditing and testing responsibilities according to customer requirements. Internal audits to ensure quality process is being followed and the resulting material is fit for shipment. Physical inspection of random samples, pulling samples for customer and sales representative, paperwork completion such as Customer Sample/COA\u2019s, randomly auditing material from machines and flagging and segregating any cartons of non-conformity. Audit lines during the production process ensuring compliance with work order specifications, and that the finished product meets customer requirements. Verify compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and PTM\u2019s (plant test methods).

  • Ensure all customer feedback is promptly dealt with and complaints are acted upon by the plant using root cause analysis and implementing corrective action

  • Assist in Driving plant accountabilities in tracking performance, resolution, and disposition of customer complaints, investigating critical quality defects on in-process and finished products, generation and analysis of quality data and reports.

Position is responsible for the following:

  • Provides other assistance to the Quality Manager.

  • Assist in tracking, analyzing, and leading initiatives for all internal quality and customer complaint issues

  • Works proactively to promote teamwork at all levels of the company.

  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules, security procedures and instructions.

  • Performs all duties according to established safety policy, including wearing all required PPE to perform duties.

  • Follows all GMP/BRC/audit scheme requirements in the position and immediately reports all quality concerns to management.

  • Willing to work flexible hours as necessary. Assigned overtime is mandatory

  • Communicate with Project Managers and Customers, if necessary

  • Communicate Company policies, procedures, and customer requirements to other employees and to participate/assist in their development as needed

  • Participate in and/or assist with internal QA audits, Customer audits, and Regulatory Agency audits as required

  • Assist with and/or conduct BRC/GMP or other training, if requested

  • Other duties as assigned

Skills & Competencies:

  • Good computer skills, proficient with advanced computer programs to include, but not limited to, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, customer issue entry and Kiwi

  • Good problem solving skills.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work in team environment.

  • Ability to work with little supervision.

  • Good attendance record.

  • Good mathematical ability, including good understanding of measurements.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude, as customer visits and interface will be required.

  • Ability to manage and meet deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of arms and legs, moving body, such as lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials as necessary.

Operation of manual lift jacks.

Education:

  • Must have HS Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

  • 1-year work related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employment Conditions:

  • Must complete GMP, BRC, Six Sigma Certification Yellow Belt, HACCP Training and Departmental Work Instruction training.

  • Must pass Company pre-employment testing.
