VILLAGE OF PLEASANT PRAIRIE Human Resources Generalist in PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Human Resources Generalist is a full-time, exempt and professional position within the Human Resources Department of the Village of Pleasant Prairie. Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the primary responsibility is to support the HR Department in ensuring smooth and efficient operations through both administrative and strategic support in recruitment, training & development, compensation, and benefits. This position is typically scheduled Monday Friday, 7:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m., but may occasionally require attendance at applicable meetings, trainings, or Village-sponsored events. Job Duties Include: Supports with various HR programs and functions including, but not limited to, benefits, compensation, training & development, leave management, employee relations matters, employee engagement, social media, and employee performance programs. Ensures legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and updates policies and/or procedures as required. Coordinates and assists with full-cycle recruitment efforts for Village vacancies; attends career fairs; drafts job descriptions; prepares advertisements; screens applicants for positions and/or refers eligible applicants to the appropriate supervisor. Supports the onboarding process for new employees and ensures all pre-employment verifications and screenings are scheduled and performed. Maintains employment files and records, compiles reports, and performs various data analysis utlizing the Village\'s physical files and electronic systems. Accurately responds to questions regarding personnel policies and procedures, employee benefits, and safety regulations. Builds relationships and employee engagement; responds to concerns and complaints; conducts appropriate ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor\'s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred. 2+ years of work history in Human Resources or similar experience. SHRM, HRCI, or PSHRA certification a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and prior experience with HRIS system preferred. Experience and knowledge of basic HR fundamentals and functions, laws, and regulations. Excellent writing, data handling, attention to detail, and analytical skills required. Ability to multi-task, organize work, and manage work schedules and deadlines effectively. Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills for working with a diverse population including employees, public officials, and the general public.
