Heart Aeropsace Electrical Test Technician in Plattsburgh, New York

As an Electrical Test Technician at Heart Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in testing and validating propulsion and powertrain systems for our prototype aircraft. Collaborating closely with our Engineering team, you will execute tests to ensure the integrity of our systems and identify opportunities for improvement. This hands-on role demands a strong foundation in electrical fundamentals, testing methodologies, and data analysis. Youll excel in a dynamic setting, effectively managing multiple priorities and meeting critical deadlines.

What Youll Do

In collaboration with Engineers, design, build, operate, and maintain test fixtures, setups, and ad hoc equipment for R&D projects, including development and qualification testing on mechanical and electrical hardware with minimal supporting documentation Perform light fabrication and assembly tasks, including operation of manual machining tools, welders, common shop, power, and hand tools Maintain or create documentation during fault finding, maintenance, or upgrade activities Understand and follow safety and environmental regulations, as well as identifies safety and environmental concerns Improve test capability and efficiency by making continuous improvements to test methods, rigs, equipment and by communicating feedback to Engineers Conduct post-test teardowns to evaluate failure modes of concern Build high quality harnesses, cables, and enclosures per Engineering documentation Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment throughout builds, effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines

What Youll Bring

Associate degree in electrical engineering technology/similar or equivalent civilian or military work experience. We are willing to look outside the box for the right candidate. Experience building or installing wiring harnesses Aerospace maintenance or electrical systems maintenance experience. Electronics manufacturing or maintenance planning and execution. Demonstrated ability to operate lab equipment including low and high-voltage power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering irons, heat guns, crimping tools, etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills (and be a fun person to work with!) Ability to obtain airport SIDA clearance 2+ years of work experience in electronics manufacturing, testing, etc. Attention to detail and good dexterity with a multitude of hand tools.
