UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN- PLATTEVILL Manager of Multicultural Student in PLATTEVILLE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Platteville is seeking applicants for a position as Manager of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA). This position is primarily responsible for the management of pre-college, advising and programming oversight within the department and will also manage the UW Lawton grant program as well as advise and assist an undergraduate student load. This is a full-time, benefit and paid leave eligible position. Responsibilities: Manage and assign student rosters to advisors, manage the communication, events and initiatives to students and manage and train advisors. Maintain a small advising load. Oversee and assist in the development of programs, workshops, conferences and campus/community partnerships that address retention of underrepresented minority students at UW-Platteville. Supervise professional staff within the office as well as student staff in the daily function and flow of the office. Monitor and ensure compliance with program requirements and UW-Platteville\'s academic policies and regulations. Serve on Academic Appeals Board. Coordinate OMSA Graduation Celebrations and other student recognition events. Administer and oversee the UW System Lawton Minority Grant. Oversee programming, supply budgets and management of resources. Oversee precollege programs to include monitoring summer camps, year-round outreach programming, assessment and grant writing. Assist in the management of the SUCCEED Summer Bridge Program. Serve on appropriate campus and community committees to help further the mission of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Provide leadership in the Director\'s absence. Schedule logistics and secure resources to support the daily operations of one or more programs. Serve as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups. Other duties as assigned. What You\'ll Need to Succeed: Bachelor Degree from accredited institution A minimum of 3 years of professional full-time working experience with underrepresented minority students in an educational setting Working knowledge of best practices that contribute to retention and achievement gap efforts affecting underrepresented students Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and personal development programming for underrepresented minority college students Experience working with diverse students from African-American, American Indian, Latinx, Hispanic...
