ABM Industries Zone Manager in Plano, Texas

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Zone Manager to oversee our cleaning in a K-12 school environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards of cleanliness. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Pay: $65,000.00/yr

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of custodians to ensure that all areas are cleaned and maintained according to company standards.

  • Schedule and assign cleaning tasks, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.

  • Train and onboard new custodial staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality performance.

  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness standards are met.

  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to cleaning services.

  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders monthly.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, staff schedules, and maintenance issues.

  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and clients to ensure satisfaction with cleaning services.

  • Assist with cleaning tasks as needed, especially in high-demand situations.

  • Develop and implement cleaning procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual Spanish required

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in janitorial services or facilities management is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a custodial manager or a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of cleaning procedures, equipment, and safety practices.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.

  • Basic computer skills.
