job summary:

Experienced architect / engineer who is an expert in SPL and Splunk Dashboards, with a good working knowledge of Splunk Architecture and Infrastructure. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge a broad infrastructure background and understand how servers are built and configured for both linux and windows operating systems. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate experience designing and implementing large applications. Experience with Kafka and MongoDB in addition to Splunk would be highly desirable. Candidate Expected to have good communication and documentation skills. In addition, resource needs to be able to work independently with minimal guidance and demonstrate the ability for taking requirements provided by Business Analysts, end users, team leads, and other project engineers and leading the design and implementation of the requirements with a team of developers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain knowledge of the configuration drift program within the Bank

• Actively interface with our operations teams to make sure we are delivering products and data that allow them to prevent incidents utilizing the data we are collecting, and that our product fits the strategic direction being pushed by their management.

• Design and implement SPL and dashboards within Splunk to give customers actionable insights into the stability of their applications

• Grow the platform to service all midrange servers within the Bank environment

• Champion automation to find and correct configuration drift

• Grow our analytics capabilities to allow Executive insight into configuration drift and platform stability

• 5+ years of experience with demonstrated Splunk SPL and dashboard proficiency

• 5+ years of experience building / maintaining midrange server infrastructure or system / middleware administration equivalent experience

• 5+ years of design experience

• 2+ years operating in an agile delivery model

• strong verbal and written communication skills

• Bash and/or Powershell proficiency

• Demonstrated experience with Splunk applications leveraging native scripting languages (Bash and/or PowerShell)
