ManpowerGroup Robotic/Automation Machine Design Engineer and Assistant Lab Manager in Plano, Texas
Manpower Engineering is seeking a top-notch Sr. Mechanical / Automation/Robotics Design Engineer to work onsite at our Fortune 500 client in Plano, TX. Long-term contract opportunity (6mo+).
What you’ll be doing:
About 80% of duties will be hands-on automation/robotic machine design and 20% leadership/managerial tasks.
You’ll be the lead/sole/primary designer of automated machines or stations, from concept to detailed design of a full system. This includes the use of steppers & servo motors, all types of sensors, vision systems, complex motion systems or robots, etc.
Background we are seeking:
Strong automation/robotics & machine building design experience with around 10+ years’ experience doing automated machines or stations, with at least 5+ years being the lead/sole/primary designer. Someone who can show/prove they can take all the way from concept to detailed design of a full system on their own. Take it, own it, design it.
Automation design experience should include experience incorporating steppers & servo motors, all types of sensors, vision systems, complex motion systems or robots, etc.
Automated sorting or pick & place system design experience is a plus
Should have experience in integrating designs with controls/electrical systems
Leadership, managerial, mentoring experience
Hands-on ability & interest to help build/prototype and test their designs is desired
SolidWorks expertise needed
