Overview:

The Broadband Architecture and Design team is looking for a highly skilled and innovative individual to join us as a Principal Member of Technical Staff. This role demands a seasoned professional adept at architecting and engineering cutting-edge broadband solutions. You will spearhead the architecture and design of intricate solutions tailored to the AT&T broadband network. This pivotal role arises from the remarkable expansion of AT&T Fiber Broadband services, encompassing MultiGig services, the evolution of highspeed Broadband services, and similar forward-looking projects. The role necessitates proficiency in a broad array of technologies, including but not limited to Ethernet networking (L2/L3), Passive Optical Networks (PON), Network Security, Telecom Network and Element Management Systems and Optical Network Engineering (DWDM).

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Technical Leadership : Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and deployment of broadband provisioning systems. Leverage software development and data modeling expertise to drive innovative solutions.

  • Product and Technology Innovation : Engage in the design and development of new products, systems/platform architecture, and hardware/software engineering. Conduct technical security assessments and ensure robust security practices.

  • Project Oversight : Capable of overseeing technical solutions from initial concept through multiple iterations to production. Strong project management skills to ensure timely and efficient implementation.

  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively, both orally and in written form.

  • System Design and Implementation : Experience in detailed system design and iterative implementation. Ability to perform proof-of-concept and design validation in a lab setting, including hands-on configuration and testing of vendor products.

  • Networking Expertise : In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Ethernet networking (L2/L3) and Data Sciences.Proficiency in IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), MPLS, LDP, RSVP, multicast, SRv6, CoS/QoS, EVPN, VxLAN, VRRP, and VPLS. Knowledge of current and developing Telecom Element Management System (EMS) standards and architectures.

  • Programming and Scripting : Ability to write code or scripts for data analysis or prototype development using languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, Golang or C/C++.

  • API Development : Experience defining and developing APIs for service automation, provisioning, and reporting. Familiarity with common API components like REST, SOAP, RPC, JSON, and XML.

  • Network and Cloud Technologies : Strong knowledge of network and cloud technologies and platforms, including KVM, Containers, Docker, Orchestration, Kubernetes, Azure, Kafka and AWS.

  • Operating Systems : Detailed knowledge of Linux-based operating systems such as Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, and Red Hat.

  • Big Data and Analytics : Experience with big data platforms and analytics tools such as Databricks, PowerBI, and Snowflake.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline e.g. Computer Science, or Engineering.

Our Principal Member of Technical Staff earn between $180,200.00 - $270,400.00 USD, annually. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
