PEPSICO INC Manager- Food Safety Continuous Improvement- Program Specialist - 349103 in PLANO, Texas
Overview This position resides within the Food Safety Center of Excellence organization based in North America and associated with North America foods including imported products distributed through North America Foods. It reports into the Director of Food Safety Continuous Improvement. The incumbent will be a key contributor in identification of high food safety risk sites and create glidepath to continuous improvement processes for food safety programs and processes within such sites for North America foods and affiliated imported product suppliers. As a thought leader and SME in the area of preventive controls per definitions of FSMA the incumbent will influence peers, stakeholders and leaders to setup rigorous and balanced processes, and recommend investments for continuous improvement. This position will also have a strong working relationship with the PFNA Supply Chain Food Safety and Quality Control.
Responsibilities - Working with PFNA Supply Chain Quality Control, FSQA, and other appropriate SMEs this role will lead the design and implementation appropriate Operational Programs and capital modifications for Food Safety and Quality. This will include documentation and trending programs to monitor data to identify unfavorable trends that indicate an increased risk to products and processes. - Conduct review of high-risk sites and their food safety plans as per identified risk matrix or series of events. Partner with plant QC personnel and relevant SMEs to evaluate food safety plans and programs withing such plans. Identify modifications to food safety plan and affiliated programs and investments needed to strengthen the plan and mitigate risks. - Close food safety and quality gaps through corrective actions, assist site with changes to food safety plan and preventive controls and identify investment needs and strategies for preventive actions. - Lead creation of tools, processes and technologies needed for implementation and verification of effectiveness of continuous improvement activities related to overall food safety programs. - Voice opinion fearlessly and establish as trusted subject matter expert. - Ability to voice opinion fearlessly and establish as trusted subject matter expert
Compensation and Benefits: - The expected compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100. - Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Qualifications - BS in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering or other related technical field. Advanced degree preferred. - Minimum 6+ years progressive experience in operations or quality and food safety with experience in FDA regulatory frameworks and their implementation. - PCQI trained individual with SME level knowledge of of Food Safety Programs and Preventive Controls and Food Safety Regulatory framework - Working knowledge of key areas of food safety including, Food Microbiology, Toxicological Principles, Allergen Management, Pest Management, Sanitation, Hygienic design, zoning, and cGMPs highly desired. - Demonstrated ability to create global standards and processes, based in science and grounded in regulatory framework. - Achieve buy-in and alignment with cross function partners through collaboration and partnerships. - Ability to synthesize complex technical information and create business relevant insights for senior leaders to enable decision making - Ability to travel primarily in North America up to 60%
