Job Description:

The ISR Chief Engineer of our Armed Overwatch progam is responsible for the day-to-day tactical/technical duties for the assigned program area. The Chief Engineer will oversee and coordinate the execution of the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the respective Program Area. In addition, the Chief Engineer will:

  • Serve as single point-of-contact to corresponding Program Executive.

  • Review status of engineering projects and budgets; manage schedules, prepare bids/proposals and prepare status reports.

  • Assess engineering project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and for intervention and problem solving with individual program Project Engineers, functional managers, and Customers.

  • Provide the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.

  • Conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other engineering projects, missions, and programs.

    Essential Functions:

  • Organize, lead and develop a team of diverse high performing Engineers

  • Coordinate with sector/division/business program management, supply chain, adjacent engineering and operation teams to define priorities for engineering and resources

  • Program planning, guidance and execution

  • Implement IMS policies, procedures and standards for Engineering

  • Establish, monitor and measure key performance measures and provide regular updates to Engineering and General Management Executives

  • Promote a culture of quality, continuous improvement and cost reduction

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline with fifteen (15) years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Leadership and people management experience

  • Experience in aviation industry and design to value engineering

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Travel as required, up to 30%
