Location: Plainsboro, NJ
Hours: Mon - Fri 7am - 3:30 pm, no weekends
POSITION SUMMARY
Disburse all materials to locations within the Operating Room and maintain all areas of material storage in a neat and organized manner, utilizing proper rotation. Supports Operating Room areas with high level of customer service regarding any needs related to materials management.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Properly handles and stores sterile supplies, maintaining sterility.
Maintains appropriate documentation by logging, filing source documents.
Supports customer service and performance improvement goals of the department; collaborates with caregivers/staff, within and outside the department, to develop means of enhancing patient care and service.
Must keep Logistics Manager informed of complaints of products and services.
Is a self-starter, initiates the meeting of responsibilities without prompting.
OTHER JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains standards of confidentiality.
Strictly maintains the security polices of UMCP, especially as it relates to computer files and information. Each person receives access to the computer files of the Hospital on a “need to know” basis. No one may share passwords or give visual access to another by leaving computer screens visibly accessible.
Processes and/or delegates processing of credits, returns etc.
Requisitions products utilizing Lawson MMIS in order to accommodate the needs or Operating Room(s).

QUALIFICATIONS
Education High School diploma or equivalent (GED) Associate’s Degree: preferred
Related Work Experience Two to four years' previous work experience in materials management or similar Five to eight years' previous work experience in materials management or similar preferred Can additional experience substitute for education? If “yes”, specify type of experience (i.e. supervisory or nonsupervisory, etc) and identify how many years of additional experience:
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS None required SPECIALIZED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENT S
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required: professionalism essential. Also required customer service orientation, a teamwork approach, flexibility and organizational and problem solving skills.
Able to read, write and verbally use the English language. Capable of lifting 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques.
