Sound Board Operator (A1) - St Germain Stage Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Sound Board Operator for our St Germain Stage to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position ensures high-quality sound for every performance throughout the BSC 2024 season in their venue. This position requires an independent individual with knowledge of theatrical sound systems who is able to work with a team to reach the artistic goals of the production. Responsibilities: - Assist in providing all audio support for productions and events throughout the BSC 2025 season, as directed by the Audio Supervisor - Program and operate computers and digital mixing consoles - Complete pre-show checks and shut-down procedures for all audio equipment before and after each performance, including assisted listening systems for audience members, backstage monitors, house and backstage paging systems, cue lights, headsets, and video cameras and monitors - Maintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork for each production including sound plots and cue sheets - Accurately execute the sound design as set by the sound designer during technical rehearsals, and replicate this design accurately and consistently as called by the Stage Manager throughout the show run - Assist with the load in of sound equipment for each show, and aid in the construction of specialty items such as speaker stands or masking for speakers within the set - Assist with the installation of and ensure communications systems for each production are in working order, including headsets, cue lights, backstage and house paging systems, dressing room monitors, assisted listening systems and conductor camera feeds, video monitors, and additional video cameras if needed for the production. - Keep the audio shop as well as the mixing area for the venue clean and organized throughout the season - Assist with maintaining and updating audio inventories throughout the season Skills: - Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills - Knowledge of theatrical sound systems and equipment including mixing consoles, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, EQ and processing gear - Experience with recording, editing, and playback of sound effects and music - Experience mixing live sound - Knowledge of theatrical audio software such as QLab and Dante - Ability to work as part of a team but also take on individual responsibilities - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and comfortable working at heights - Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat This position reports to the Audio Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position Contract: 4/28/2025 through 10/19/2025 Pay is \$848.65 per week, non-exempt, with overtime starting at 50 hours and housing available.
