Properties Supervisor Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires (MA), is seeking a Properties Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position oversees all the properties needs throughout the season, for productions and events on our Boyd-Quinson Stage and St Germain Stage. The Properties Supervisor oversees the Assistant Properties Supervisor and the Properties Artisans. This position requires a driven and passionate professional with strong leadership and organizational skills, extensive knowledge of props creation techniques and historical context, and the ability to manage multiple productions and the properties team. Responsibilities: Manage the properties team to provide all properties for productions and events throughout the BSC 2025 season and assist in the construction and procurement of all theatrical properties needed Coordinate with designers, stage management, and directors to create a final props list, and ensure all properties match the artistic vision of each production Provide stand-in rehearsal props to each production throughout the rehearsal process Coordinate with other departments as needed to ensure props are completed efficiently and on schedule Consult with Production Management and the creative team to best meet the needs of the production and create accurate cost estimates to remain within budget based on designers\' renderings and research Accurately track expenses and provide expenditure reports to Production Management in a timely manner Train run crew on the proper storage, usage, and required maintenance of props Coordinate and manage the load in and out of properties including supervising the properties staff Provide Production Management with accurate load-in/out and changeover paperwork Maintain the current properties stock, document any additional purchases, and track the status of all properties owned by BSC with the properties inventory Maintain properties shop tools and equipment, to ensure they are in safe and proper working order Keep the properties shop and storage areas free of debris, and ensure props are clean and free of mold, mildew, or infestations throughout the season Manage any prop rentals and purchases and ensure they are returned on time Attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and production meetings as needed, and promptly respond to notes given throughout the rehearsal process Maintain a safe and healthy working environment Maintains clear and consistent communication with Production Management and other Department Heads to ensure effective collaboration throughout the season Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Cost estimation, budgetar,y and time management skills Working knowledge of properties construction techniques and materials Working knowledge of shop tools and equipment including, carpentry, welding, upholstery, and sewing tools Knowledge of furniture history and periods Knowledge of mold-making and casting techniques Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Photoshop Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds Driver\'s License required This position reports to Production Management.
