Assistant Audio Supervisor Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking an Assistant Audio Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. This position oversees the audio department throughout the 2025 season and ensures high-quality sound in line with the artistic vision for all BSC productions and events. The Assistant Audio Supervisor oversees the Sound Board Operators and the Sound Technicians. This position requires a driven individual with strong leadership skills and an extensive knowledge of theatrical sound systems. Responsibilities: - Assist in the management of the audio team to provide all audio support for productions and events throughout the BSC 2025 season - Aid the Audio Supervisor and creative teams in determining a seasonal rental package, and source equipment to effectively create their designs in the theatre - Maintain accurate and up-to-date paperwork for each production including plots and cue sheets - Consult with the Audio Supervisor and the creative team to best meet the needs of the production and create accurate cost estimates to remain within budget - Provide rehearsal sound systems for playback of effects or music in rehearsal studios as necessary - Help coordinate and manage the load in and out of sound equipment including supervising the staff of the audio department and any overhire staff needed - Assist in creating changeover schedules and paperwork - Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness when planning load-ins or changeovers - Train run crew in the handling of any sound equipment as necessary - Attend rehearsals, technical rehearsals, and production meetings as needed, and respond to notes given throughout the rehearsal process - Install and ensure communications systems for each production are in working order, including headsets, cue lights, backstage and house paging systems, dressing room monitors, conductor camera feeds, video monitors, additional video cameras and monitors if needed, and assisted listening systems - Keep the audio shop clean and organized throughout the season and maintain and update shop inventory - Maintain a safe and healthy working environment - Assist the Audio Supervisor in accurately tracking expenses and providing expenditure reports - Provide mixing and engineering support for Cabaret events throughout the season Skills: - Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and time management skills - Knowledge of theatrical sound systems and equipment including mixing consoles, speakers, microphones, amplifiers, EQ, and processing gear - Experience with recording, editing and playback of sound effects and music - Experience mixing live sound - Knowledge of theatrical audio software and networking, including Qlab and Dante - Ability to accurately budget and create cost estimates - Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat This position reports to the Audio Supervisor. It is a full-time, seasonal position Contract: 4/28/2025 through 9/21/2025 Pay is \$900 per week, exempt, with housing available.
