McKamish Truck Driver in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
To ensure the customer is always serviced first by providing efficient and safe, claim-free pickup and delivery service. Develop and maintain positive customer relations to grow our business. Perform a variety of routine transportation work in driving as well as warehouse and shipping duties.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain effective relationships between the Company and the customer by driving 24-foot truck
- Perform pickup and delivery service on designated assignments
- Unload and load trailer
- Properly perform task to assure safety and to prevent damage to cargo.
- Ensure all shipment paperwork (manifest, bills of lading, shipping orders, freight bills, etc.) required to move with shipments are properly completed.
- Reinforce marketing messages through daily conversations with customers. Work to understand and support targeted growth plans.
- Maintain safe driving at all times.
- Promptly report all accidents involving driver or company equipment and any delays due to customers, breakdowns, weather or traffic conditions, or other emergencies, or any irregularities relating to pickup or delivery.
- Complete pre-operational and post-operational inspections on all job-related equipment
- Operates forklift
- Performs shipping and receiving duties, including manual labor
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Must be at least 23 years of age
- Must have a minimum of 6 months recent and verifiable commercial driving experience and be familiar with the region
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and written, and have good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work independently and manage time effectively
- Must be able to safely operate equipment in all types of weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs., unassisted, several times throughout the workday
- Must be able to maneuver heavy product (100-700 lbs.) using fork lifts or pallet jacks repeatedly throughout the day
Minimum Requirements
- Must have a valid CDL Class B with no pattern of moving violations/accidents in either a personal or commercial vehicle.
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds, unassisted, repetitively throughout the workday
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time. In addition, be able to stand, walk, bend, stop, push, pull, and reach.
- One year of commercial driving experience with safe driving history
- Must be knowledgeable and comply with all DOT rules and regulations
Must be flexible to work overtime and Saturdays if requested.
